The Free-Soil party, organized in 1848, manifested a quasi-antislavery platform. The party, however, offered no sound threat to slaveholders’ 'property rights.' Where did Helvetica come from? It originated in the second half of the 1950s from the already existing and owned by the Swiss Haas typewriter typeface with a very “original” name Haas Grotesk (a grotesque note on typography is the name of a sans serif font).
